I’m sorry I haven’t written more in the last few weeks. I’ve been stuck on one big post that is taking forever to finish. That post will focus on depositions. After that I will be starting on a post regarding environmental permitting, including the role that lawyers play in that process. For that article I will be working with Shane Latimer of SCS Engineers.

I have also been concentrating on a new project. I have opened a law office. My practice will be focused solely on Oregon state law or federal issues arising in Oregon. My email for that office is [email protected] The problems I will be handling will be those arising in environmental law and permitting, land use law and permitting, government law, and the special issues of the solid waste industry, such as franchising.

Foundation In Law

Over a long career as a practicing attorney, Frank Hammond came to realize many prospective legal clients do not know much about lawyering and lawyers – how they work, how fees are set, and how to deal with them. Beginning attorneys also often have little notion of what actual practice involves. This blog is meant to be a guide for both.
